WHAT IS THE
(Giving Real Opportunity With Talent & Heart) Initiative was created by 100 Roses From Concrete founder Keni Thacker, former Program Creator of the J.Walter Thompson (now Wunderman Thompson) Young Commodores program. This new virtual agency program will allow a select group of multicultural college students to gain advertising, marketing, media, and public relations experience over ten weeks. The G.I.’s for short will apply the lessons taught by members of 100 Roses From Concrete and special guests to create branding solutions for a real-life non-profit client as they learn to adapt to a new world post the coronavirus.
All mentors must commit to 30-60 minute check-ins a week for 8 weeks with their mentees.

THE MENTOR APPLICATION DEADLINE WILL BE
APRIL 30TH, 2021
Applicants must be currently be enrolled
in college, or be recent graduates
of under 2 years.
Applicants must commit at least 2 days (Monday and Wednesday) a week, and a minimum of four hours a week away to the program. Each session will be 2 hours.
Applicants must have at least 1 year of studies in advertising, marketing, media, or public relations.
Applicants should have access to
a computer with a camera.

2020 G.R.O.W.T.H. INITIATIVE RECAP
In the eye of the storm of COVID-19, civil unrest in America, and while agencies terminated their summer internships, 100 Roses From Concrete created the G.R.O.W.T.H. Initiative. In partnership with the Advertising Club of New York and Save the Internships New York, and in collaboration with Extreme Reach and PlowShare Group, over 50 talented and diverse students were selected from across the country to participate in this immersive experience.
The “GIFS” Growth Initiative Fellows, gave eight weeks of their summer learning, growing, and developing quality creative campaign work for four deserving nonprofit organizations: City Living NY, CONNECT NYC, Live Light Live Right, and RAISE.
